A real diagnostic approval in Japan — and a specific FDA safety-page entry
GHRP-2, generic name pralmorelin, has a genuinely established clinical diagnostic role in Japan — an IV stimulation test used to assess growth hormone deficiency. Beyond that specific diagnostic use, broader therapeutic use is not supported by widespread regulatory approval anywhere, per a 2026 peer-reviewed review of this exact peptide class.
FDA's own compounding safety-risk page carries a dated (September 29, 2023) GHRP-2 entry, worth reading at its full, precise wording rather than its most alarming clause: FDA states it is "aware of reports of serious adverse events in patients who received GHRP-2, including increased insulin requirement to maintain the blood glucose level, death of critically ill study subjects, infection and pancreatitis, though causality has not been established." That full sentence, including FDA's own causality caveat, is reported here — not the alarming half without it. Separately, GHRP-2 sits in Category 3 of FDA's current 503A Bulks List — "Nominated Without Adequate Support," meaning FDA found the nomination itself didn't include enough information to complete an evaluation.
