Real FDA approval history — both products discontinued today
Gonadorelin genuinely did have two FDA-approved human drug products: Factrel (gonadorelin hydrochloride, approved 1982, for diagnostic evaluation of pituitary- gonadal function) and Lutrepulse Kit (gonadorelin acetate, approved 1989 under orphan-drug status, for pulsatile-pump treatment of hypothalamic amenorrhea). Both are confirmed "Discontinued" in FDA's own database, and no generic version has ever been approved — there is currently no FDA-approved gonadorelin product on the U.S. market in any form.
A naming trap worth flagging directly: a DailyMed search for "Factrel" today finds a real, currently-active filing — but it is a completely different, animal-only product for treating ovarian cysts in cattle, unrelated to the discontinued human drug beyond sharing an old brand name.
Gonadorelin's real published human evidence covers two narrower uses than the testosterone-therapy fertility-preservation use it's often marketed for today: the GnRH stimulation test (a diagnostic tool) and pulsatile-pump therapy for congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, a specific rare condition. A dedicated search for gonadorelin as a TRT adjunct did not locate a dedicated human trial of that specific protocol.
What the tool below actually does is narrower than that context might suggest: it takes the vial size, diluent volume, and dose you type in and returns the concentration and draw volume that arithmetic implies — nothing more. It cannot confirm that a vial matches an approved product (none exists to compare against) or that a dose matches any studied protocol.
