IGF-1 LR3 reconstitution calculator

This compound was built as a lab reagent, and no human has ever been studied on it

IGF-1 LR3 ("Long [Arg3]-IGF-I") is an engineered analog of insulin-like growth factor 1, first described in 1992. The discovery paper's own language calls the analogues it reports "very useful reagents in the investigation of IGF-I action" — every biological result in that founding paper comes from cell culture, not a living animal. It was never proposed as a drug candidate, and nothing published since has changed that: a dedicated search of the published literature (39 results, read in full for this site's evidence review) turns up livestock physiology, industrial bioprocessing, and one 2025 mouse Alzheimer's-model study — zero human trials, at any dose, by any route.

Its regulatory status is the starkest of any molecule on this calculator hub: IGF-1 LR3 has never even been nominated to FDA for compounding-bulk-substance review. Checked live against FDA's current 503A Bulks List (updated May 14, 2026) and its companion page tracking substances with documented safety concerns — which also covers nominations later withdrawn — neither document contains any IGF-1 LR3 naming variant. DailyMed returns zero results, confirming no FDA-approved product exists under any form. openFDA's FAERS adverse-event database returns zero reports under every name variant tried — the only molecule on this hub with a fully null safety-report history, which reflects an absence of any formal use record to report on, not a demonstrated safety profile.

What the tool below actually does is narrower than that context might suggest: it takes the vial size, diluent volume, and dose you type in and returns the concentration and draw volume that arithmetic implies — nothing more. There is no published human dose for it to check that arithmetic against, no established safety margin, and no evidence any effect seen in cell culture or livestock translates to a person. A correct-looking syringe reading is not evidence that any of that is safe or effective.
