There is no approved product or dosing standard behind this calculator

MOTS-c is a 16-amino-acid peptide encoded by a short reading frame inside mitochondrial DNA, not a hormone released by the pituitary or a synthetic version of one — a genuinely different category of molecule from the growth-hormone secretagogues and GLP-1-family compounds elsewhere on this calculator. It is studied mainly for its role in cellular energy metabolism: preclinical rodent research links it to AMPK-pathway activation, improved insulin sensitivity and exercise-adaptation effects, which is why it is sometimes described as an "exercise mimetic." Human clinical data on MOTS-c itself remains sparse — the only peptide in its family to complete a human Phase 1 trial is CB4211, a different sponsor's synthetic MOTS-c-related analogue, not MOTS-c itself. It has never had an FDA-approved drug product of its own: a direct check against DailyMed, the National Library of Medicine's official archive of FDA-approved drug labeling, returns zero results for "MOTS-C."

Its compounding status is also unsettled, and has moved recently: MOTS-c sat on FDA's interim Section 503A Category 2 list (bulk substances presenting significant safety risks that pharmacies should not compound) from 2023 until April 15, 2026, when FDA removed it — along with eleven other peptides, including TB-500, BPC-157, injectable GHK-Cu and KPV — because the nomination behind that listing was withdrawn, effective April 22, 2026. That removal does not make compounding MOTS-c legal; it only lifts the "significant safety risk" flag while further review continues. That review has already happened: at FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meeting on July 23-24, 2026, the committee voted 7-5-2 to recommend adding MOTS-c to the 503A bulks list for its nominated obesity and osteoporosis uses — a narrower margin and the highest abstention count of the seven peptides reviewed that day, which coverage of the hearing tied to MOTS-c's comparatively early-stage human evidence. A committee recommendation is not final agency action — as of this page's last review, FDA had not yet formally added MOTS-c to the list.

What the tool below actually does is narrower than that context might suggest: it takes the vial size, diluent volume, and dose you type in and returns the concentration and draw volume that arithmetic implies — nothing more. It cannot confirm that a particular vial is what its label claims, that the dose you enter is appropriate for you, that it is currently legal for a pharmacy to have compounded it, or that the product you drew that number from came from a legitimate source. A correct-looking syringe reading is not evidence that any of those things are true.
